Price M. Cobbs, M.D.

Dr. Price M. Cobbs is an internationally renowned psychiatrist and corporate management consultant who counts among his clients Fortune 500 companies and government and community agencies worldwide. Pacific Management Systems, the San Francisco based company he founded in the late 1960s, consults with global organizations on leadership and executive development, achieving a diverse workforce, effective communications, and the psychology of networking.

A respected author, Dr. Cobbs' most recent book is Cracking the Corporate Code, co-authored with Judith Turnock, Esq. The book highlighting career strategies and the lives of 32 members of the Executive Leadership Council is designed to help African-American corporate managers interpret the unwritten code that governs the corporate workplace and culture. He is also known for Black Rage and Jesus Bag, co-authored with William Grier, both classics in African-American literature.

Dr. Cobbs has lectured and published extensively on the underlying psychodynamics and effects of racism. He contributes regularly to the National Urban League's annual publication, State of Black America. The developer of "ethnotherapy," a clinical model capable of changing attitudes and assumptions arising from racial, ethnic, and value differences, his model is the foundation for the award-winning video series, "Valuing Diversity," which he co-produced.

Following military service in Germany, Dr. Cobbs received a B.A. from the University of California-Berkeley and his M.D. from Meharry Medical College. He is a member of the National Medical Association, the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, and a Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association in addition to the Executive Leadership Council.
