SMARTFORCE:
200 e-Learning courses
The Executive
Leadership Foundation's Technology Transfer Project is pleased to
provide a collection of 200 Self-Paced technology-training courses
to all faculty, staff, and students at TTP's twelve participating
schools. These courses are designed as an adjunct learning resource
on topics such as: MS Office 2000, Windows 2000, Understanding the
Internet, Web Design, and much more. SmartForce, an e-Learning Company,
is the industry leader in the design and delivery of interactive
education software, and has developed numerous award-winning pieces
of interactive training courseware for educational, governmental
and corporate institutions.
This unique
computer-based training includes an easy-to-follow, systematic method,
with very rich audio and video to lead the learner through each
task and subject, making the training highly engaging for the user.
SmartForce's interactive software enables the user to receive a
tailored educational experience. Each course lesson is broken into
sections, enabling easy start up at any point in the training and
allowing users to bypass sections that have been previously mastered.
SmartForce
was launched at 11 of the 12 TTP partner institutions. Full implementation
of SmartForce e-Learning at the campuses is targeted for completion
by the end of September 2000. Fred Barnett, an Information Technology
Specialist at North Carolina Central University, speaks very highly
of the product, "It's an excellent
training tool for our campus environment; the courseware provides
for individualized learning and it allows the student to learn manageable
chunks of information; it's a wonderful self-paced learning tool."
